PINE64 is currently offering for sale its PineBuds Pro earphones, which are TWS earbuds that support open source and custom firmware. The PineBuds Pro, which are currently on sale for a price of US$69.99, come equipped with drivers of 6 millimeters in diameter, six microphones, and active noise cancellation (ANC) technology that is rumored to be more effective than its counterpart in the Apple AirPods Pro 2.

PINE64 has begun selling the PineBuds Pro, a pair of TWS earbuds that the business announced in April but did not release until now. The business says that the PineBuds Pro use dynamic drivers that are 6 millimeters in size, which outperform normal 10 millimeter speakers in terms of audio quality and bass reproduction while delivering a frequency response that ranges from 20 hertz to 20 kilohertz. As a point of perspective, PineBuds Pro utilized these 6 mm drivers with Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity, although the headphones only supported the AAC and SBC Bluetooth codecs.

In addition, PINE64 claims that each earbud has three microphones that together are capable of delivering up to 45 dB of hybrid adaptive ANC between the frequencies of 50-200 Hz, or a maximum attenuation of -55 dB at 150 Hz. Not only does the manufacturer assert that the PineBuds Pro are “the most advanced active noise-cancelling wireless earphones,” but it also includes a comparison chart that shows how the earbuds outperform the AirPods Pro 2 in a number of important categories.

The 40 mAh batteries found in the PineBuds Pro are expected to last for up to 5 hours between charges. These batteries can have their capacity increased to 800 mAh by using the charging case that comes with the PineBuds Pro. It is claimed that the charging case can provide up to four full charges for a total of twenty-five hours of use, while the earphones themselves have an IPX4 rating that protects them from dust and water. It may be argued that one of the most interesting aspects of the PineBuds Pro is its support for user-created open-source software. The wiki for the earbuds contains information about how to do this. PINE64 is now accepting orders for the PineBuds Pro, which can be purchased for US$69.99 (plus applicable shipping and tax fees).
