‘One Piece’ and ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’ Are Getting Live-action Versions on Netflix

Netflix

Netflix comes up with quite the sneak peek about the upcoming live-action adaptations of “One Piece” and “Avatar: The Last Airbender.” We are beyond ecstatic that the streaming service has finally released new trailers for the two live-action versions of classic cartoon programs. How about you?

A trailer for One Piece has just been released in anticipation of its August 31st debut on Netflix. For Avatar: The Last Airbender, we’ve got a teaser trailer instead, which could’ve been more, but we’re still happy about it. Make sure you check them out below:

Let’s take a closer look at what to expect from the forthcoming live-action adaptations on Netflix.

First things first, we’ve got the incredible 90-second One Piece trailer that introduces us to the cast and locations of the upcoming live-action adaptation of the popular manga and anime series. Star Iaki Godoy frequently appears as the kind but naive protagonist, Monkey D. Luffy, who has the elasticity of a rubber band. That’s quite hilarious, right?!

Mackenyu, as Roronoa Zero; Rudd, as Nami; Taz Skylar, as Sanji; and Emily Jacob Romero Gibson, as Usopp, round up the rest of the Straw Hat Pirate gang. Neat!

How about the Avatar: The Last Airbender live adaptation?

There are no glimpses of the live-action remake’s characters or settings in the Avatar: The Last Airbender teaser. But hey, don’t give up. There’s still plenty to look forward to!

For example, Water Tribes, Air Nomads, Fire Nation, and Earth Kingdom’s unique symbols are clearly seen as they gradually fade in and out. What’s really amazing is how each sign has a little aural cue that corresponds to its element. Really remarkable, huh?

Gordon Cormier plays Aang, Ian Ousley plays Sokka, Kiawentiio plays Katara, and Daniel Dae Kim plays Fire Lord Ozai in Avatar: The Last Airbender. How do you feel about the live-action version?
