Mortal Kombat Will Have an Animated Movie – Watch the Trailer

When you say ‘Mortal Kombat,’ the first thing that pops into the mind is a fighting arena where opponents engage in bloody and merciless battles against one another. But who said that movies could not be made after video games?

Warner Bros. launched the first trailer for the upcoming ‘Mortal Kombat Legends: Snow Blind’ animated movie, and we must say that it looks pretty captivating:

This won’t be the first movie based on the famous video game series, though. Scorpion’s Revenge and Battle of the Realms are the other two animated movies, and Snow Blind will be a sequel.

It seems that we’ll get to see a confrontation between Kenshi and the antagonist Kano. The latter is one of those classical antagonists when it comes to Mortal Kombat. That can only mean one thing: the animated movie is expected to be a success!

If animated movies are one thing, you should also keep in mind that a live-action movie based on the Mortal Kombat video game series also came out last year in April, and it was generally received well.

Feel free to watch the trailer if you have the courage:

IGN’s description for the movie sounds like this:

The Mortal Kombat movie reboot from director Simon McQuoid features the defenders of Earthrealm Liu Kang, Sonya Blade, Jax Briggs and more entering the Mortal Kombat tournament to save the world from Shang Tsung, Sub-Zero, Mileena and other supernatural kombatants.

Unfortunately, there’s no release date available yet when it comes to Mortal Kombat Legends: Snow Blind, which means that the date when the movie comes out is anybody’s guess. However, we can expect the movie to come out in a few years for the worst-case scenario since there’s already a trailer available.

The Mortal Kombat series includes 24 games, which means that those who want to make movies after it sure have a lot of material to take inspiration from!
