Microsoft Windows continues to be the most popular operating system available out there. But since popularity is not a synonym for quality, that’s one lesson that many folks still have to learn.

We’re not saying that Windows is a bad operating system. However, millions of its users have to be on alert after Microsoft has confirmed the existence of a critical vulnerability, according to Forbes.com.

Watch out for the CVE-2021-34484 flaw

The flaw known as CVE-2021-34484 allows attackers to infiltrate all versions of Windows and take control of the victim’s computer, which is indeed concerning. Even the new Windows 11 is on the list.

Funny enough, Microsoft mistakenly thought that it had patched the vulnerability. However, the fix was proven to be flawed.

Windows 11 is the latest version of Microsoft’s famous operating system, and it was released last month. The Redmond-based giant has a lot of important things to say about Windows 11, and here is a part of it:

Ensuring that your device is kept up to date is important for your device security and functionality. With an internet connection, Windows 11 will periodically check for updates so you don’t have to (ISP fees might apply). You can check to see if there are any pending or optional updates available for your device by going to Settings | Update & Security | Windows Update.

In the first month after its launch, Windows 11 was already installed on more than 5% of computers. It shall be interesting to see if the new Windows will have a similar impact on the tech world as its predecessor Windows 10 had. Despite apparently being highly superior to Windows 8, the Windows 10 version wasn’t so well received by the fans. Microsoft has seemed desperate to convince its users to make the upgrade to Windows 10, and maybe that was the main mistake.
