Microsoft Teams Brings New Video Filters

Microsoft Teams is one of those apps that have brought us all together in a virtual world of meetings, chats, and collaborations. Teams is like the virtual water cooler that we all gather around, but instead of discussing the latest episode of your favorite TV show, you’re discussing the latest project updates.

Now, you might be thinking, “why do I need to use an app like Microsoft Teams when I can just send an email or make a phone call?” Well, using Microsoft Teams is like upgrading from a flip phone to a smartphone. Sure, you can still make calls and send texts on a flip phone, but with a smartphone, you can do so much more.

Video filters are now available in Microsoft Teams

Microsoft Teams is launching video filters to enhance the user experience during meetings. The AI-powered filters allow participants to soften their appearance, add backgrounds, and apply visual effects to their video stream, including animated frames and color styles. The feature will be available through the Custom Filters app and can be enabled/disabled by tenant admins. Users can provide explicit consent to access their video feed and can turn off the filters by uninstalling the app. The filters are currently available only on desktops and not in EDU tenants.

Perhaps we can all agree that Microsoft Teams has some top features to offer, without even counting the new video filters:

  • Communication: Teams offers a range of communication features, including instant messaging, audio and video calls, and online meetings. This allows users to easily connect and collaborate with colleagues, regardless of their location.
  • File Sharing: Teams allows users to share files and documents with colleagues, making it easier to collaborate on projects.
  • Integration: Teams integrates with other Microsoft products, such as Office 365 and SharePoint, as well as with third-party applications, making it a one-stop-shop for productivity.
  • Customization: Teams can be customized to meet the unique needs of each team. Users can add apps, channels, and tabs to their Teams to improve their workflows and boost productivity.
  • Security: Teams has built-in security features, such as multi-factor authentication and encryption, to ensure that sensitive information is kept safe.

With Microsoft Teams, you can join meetings from anywhere, at any time, with just a few clicks. No more driving to the office, finding a conference room, and setting up a projector. Now, you can join a meeting from the comfort of your own home, in your pajamas, with your cat sitting on your lap.
