Technical difficulties disrupted the House of the Dragon’s premiere, but everything got back on track quickly.

House of the Dragon, the prequel to Game of Thrones, has crashed HBO Max. On Sunday (August 21), millions of users went to the app to watch the season premiere, but there was nothing to watch. The issue? Technical difficulties experienced by at least 3,500 people.

Read out below for more details.

House of the Dragon is a Total Blast

The eagerly anticipated Game of Thrones prequel, House of the Dragon, has kept fans on the edge of their seats since it was initially revealed. However, according to The Hollywood Reporter, certain Amazon devices couldn’t handle the surge of watchers. Crazy!

Users of HBO Max moved to Twitter in the meantime to express their frustrations.

Shortly after that, HBO Max responded:

House of the Dragon is being successfully viewed by millions of HBO Max subscribers this evening; […] We’re aware of a small portion of users attempting to connect via Fire TV devices that are having issues and are in the process of resolving for those impacted users.

Currently, it appears that those problems have been mostly rectified. However, when the first episode of Game of Thrones was formally published, fans were left in the dark and angry to discover that they couldn’t see it.

HBO Max had also helped users, advising them to “go to any other show/movie on HBO Max, turn off subtitles/captions, and then try streaming House of the Dragon again.”

Some people allegedly succeeded with that, but others were unlucky. Of course, it also made it impossible for individuals who require closed captioning to watch the show.

As bad as it was, there have been reports of similar problems during the last episodes of the first season of Game of Thrones, so this is not the first time it has caused Amazon Fire breakdowns.

Let’s hope we won’t see that happen again and enjoy our new favorite show without trouble!
