Everybody knows about the incredible notoriety of Facebook. It’s enough to observe the everyday society and people walking on the street. Many of them are scrolling through Facebook’s news feed on their smartphones. At work, school, cafes, restaurants, or parties, it’s the same thing. Pretty much everyone is on Facebook.

Mark Zuckerberg’s social network has been the most downloaded app in the world for plenty of time. But you know what they say: everything must come to an end. So it happened even to the mighty Facebook! The social network fell from the state of the most downloaded app on the planet, according to NIKKEI Asia.

TikTok takes the lead

TikTok became the most downloaded app in the world, according to a global survey from 2020. TikTok is a video-sharing app developed in China, and it’s now taking the lead by surpassing other top apps such as Instagram, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, and so on. It’s an incredible achievement for an app launched only four years ago!

The international version of TikTok was launched by ByteDance in 2017. The app focuses mostly on video sharing. Its users are making short-term videos with the help of the software. These videos can be from genres like comedy, education, and dance. They can last between fifteen seconds and three minutes.

Otherwise, the “big four” in 2020 is the most predicted one. While TikTok is in the first place, Facebook is the next in line. WhatsApp occupies third place, while Instagram is the next in the ranking.

What do you think about TikTok? Are you using the app? Do you find it useful? Do you think it deserves the first place? Feel free to tell us in a comment below!
