It’s only a matter of time until the Dragon Ball Super anime will come back. The continuation of the story with the manga series proves to us all that the show will also come back one day on the screens. Goku and Vegeta are already facing the second major villain in the manga. After some devastating fights with Planet Eater Moro, Granolah is also one of those who gave Goku and the gang a lot of headaches.

Dragon Ball Super is expected to return sometime in the next several years, and the narrator of the anime himself confirmed it in the last episode of the first season. Goku and Vegeta still have plenty of things to settle, and Frieza is always up to no good.

But what about Gohan? Goku’s son has been hugely influential back in the old days of the Dragon Ball Z series.  He was even the hero of a major arc. Later on, Gohan lost a lot of his prestige and even his power. He often skipped training for classes after the Cell Saga and in most of the Dragon Ball Super anime. While making a pretty good impression in the Tournament of Power, Gohan was still pretty far from the credit he received in Dragon Ball Z.

However, Dragon Ball Super could prepare something entirely special for Gohan when the anime returns. Let’s see the possible plots:

Gohan becoming the hero of a major arc once again

This is the most wanted scenario that the Gohan fans are hoping for. And it’s a pretty realistic one if you ask us! The Saiyan has been keeping up with the rest of the Z warriors in Dragon Ball Super, but he still needed a bit more training to become just as powerful as his father or Vegeta. The obvious continuation would be to see Goan shine again and kick some major villain ass.

SPOILER ALERT! IF YOU DO NOT WISH TO GET SPOILED, GO BACK  NOW!

Gohan defeated Cell after a long struggle. Even Goku didn’t manage to achieve victory against the evil android created by Dr. Gero. Gohan became powerful enough to obliterate Cell. At only 11 years of age, Gohan became a Super Saiyan, and he even surpassed his father in strength.

Gohan becoming… a villain!

We’ve seen before good guys turning evil in Dragon Ball, as they were under the spell of some evil forces. For instance, let’s remember Majin Vegeta, or when the same Saiyan Prince was possessed by Baby, the villain from Dragon Ball GT. Considering the huge power and potential of Gohan, he can also get under the command of an evil force, imposing him to perform evil acts. Goku, Vegeta, or Piccolo would surely have a lot of trouble battling Gohan. The fact that they care about him could even become the biggest advantage that a controlled and evil version of Gohan might have. Goku would never harm his own son, and Piccolo has been like a second father for Gohan.

Ever since he was a kid, Gohan has shown tremendous potential without even training. He managed to hurt Raditz, who was Goku’s evil brother, when both Piccolo and Goku could barely lay a hand on him. Gohan is exceptionally powerful, he has always been. While he used that to his advantage and for the sake of his loved ones, such power can also turn against the Z warriors.

Gohan is not only Goku’s son. He saved the world and his friends several times in Dragon Ball Z, and he wouldn’t hesitate to do it again if he had to.
