Given the prize chances they provide and the fact that they play a large role in the endgame, Diablo 4’s dungeons are undoubtedly a huge aspect of the game. However, players who participated in the beta version of the game found the dungeons to be rather irritating in a variety of ways.

They were tedious and repetitive, according to some gamers, and many of the tasks necessary to fulfill objectives inside the dungeons, such as clearing out stray foes or channeling things to accomplish goals, were recommended to take too long.

Fortunately, it appears that Blizzard has acknowledged the input and disclosed a number of distinct modifications that will be made for the sake of providing gamers with the best experience possible.

The Diablo 4 team provided a list of some of the modifications being made in a post earlier this week, addressing a number of complaints.

The circumstance where dungeons required players to wipe out opponents with the “Kill All Monsters” goal is one of the main ones that are probably familiar to gamers who tried out the game in its beta stage.

In most situations, that is a simple enough task to do, but occasionally adversaries were difficult to locate, necessitating extensive retracing in order to locate the remaining foes.

In order to assist players in fulfilling the Kill All Monsters aim, Blizzard is addressing this by making it such that “limited groups of straggling monsters will seek out the player.”

Additional resources, shortened cooldowns, and a shorter channel time while depositing Animus are all beneficial additions as well.

For whatever reason, depositing used to take three seconds, but it now happens instantly.

Players in a group sent out to collect essential items needed to advance through the dungeons while the others wait near a target mission now also receive a speed boost.

The notes stated that “While carrying the Ancient’s Statue, Mechanical Box, Bloodstone, or Stone Carving, you’ll receive a Momentum bonus granting a 25 percent move speed increase to you and to nearby allies.”

The objective behind all of these tweaks, which can be seen in full here, is to make dungeons less monotonous.

According to Blizzard, this is actually just the beginning of future revisions sure to be made to the game in the future, so look forward to more improvements!

“While our dungeons offer a variety of Objectives to complete, user feedback stated the action of completing each Objective felt tedious. We hope providing bonuses, such as an increase to mobility while carrying certain Objective items, will streamline and also vary the experience of completing Objectives. This adjustment is just a starting point, and we intend to also extend this philosophy to keys in a future update.”
