In their most recent investors call, Remedy Entertainment provided updates on some of their titles, Control 2 being one of them.

Remedy Entertainment, the creators behind Control, Control 2, and Alan Wake, stated in a recent update that it now has “specific ideas” as far as the game’s vision and its development stage are concerned.

The studio is currently working on a number of projects, including Control 2, so it’s safe to say that they are quite busy at the moment.

The Control 2 update was included in the analysis for the studio’s earnings report.

Check out what they had to say about this much anticipated sequel to the fan-favorite game Control.

“In November, we announced the deal for Control 2 with 505 Games. Now this further strengthens our collaboration on the Control franchise and marks yet another big step towards game publishing. Control 2 expands the story and world from the original Control. We have detailed concepts on the game vision now and all creative areas including the gameplay, the narrative and the art. We are pleased with the work our team has done and as of January of 2023, the game has progressed to the proof of concept stage,” Remedy stated.

Things have advanced a little in the months since the game’s first announcement, when Remedy stated that Control 2 was still only an idea.

For comparison, Control was released back in 2019, however there is currently no release date for Control 2.

Control 2 is one of the projects Remedy is working on at the moment, as was previously reported. Codename Condor and Codename Vanguard are two games that have been mentioned in the past and were also discussed in the most recent earnings report.

The first is a service-based game that Remedy has never done before, and the second is a free-to-play, co-op, PvE shooter.

Additionally, there are plans to remake the original and second Max Payne games.

The eagerly anticipated Alan Wake 2 is one of the most important projects Remedy is working on. Finally, AMC is currently developing an Alan Wake TV series.

With that being said, it’s safe to say that the studio has a lot on their hands this year but given that they are so busy working on so many different projects, fans of Control really appreciate the update on the sequel.
