2021 is two days until it will say ‘goodbye’ to us, leaving room for a New Year that will hopefully be even better when it comes to gaming.

FIFA 22 has been significantly better than its predecessor, FIFA 21. Most gamers agree with this statement. That’s why we’re glad to present the Team of the Year in FIFA 22, according to Dexerto.com, while adding our own comments on the roster of players:

  • GK: Gianluigi Donnarumma (PSG, Italy): at only 22 years old, Donnarumma plays at one of the most powerful clubs in the world and at the Italian national team. Italy won the World Cup four times during its history, and it did it last time at the competition held in Germany in 2006.
  • Defense: Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool, England), Rudiger (Chelsea, Germany), Bonnucci (Juventus, Italy), Joao Cancelo (Manchester City, Portugal): This line of defense is simply outstanding. The most surprising selection could be the one of Cancelo, although Rudiger’s gameplay has also grown tremendously this season.
  • Midfielders: Jorginho (Chelsea, Italy), De Bruyne (Manchester City, Belgium), Kante (Chelsea, France): Jorginho is the only selection that could be regarded as a little surprise in our view. Either way, Chelsea’s boy is a true artist on the pitch.
  • Forwards: Salah (Liverpool, Egypt), Lewandowski (Bayern Munchen, Poland), Messi (PSG, Argentina): two of these boys are above the age of 33 years old, and they’re still fantastic players. With Messi’s move to PSG, there goes perhaps the only chance Barcelona had to give at least a player to this roster.

The Team of the Year could surely have other names as well, and we would be interested to find out your own selections. Just try pretending that you’re the best football manager in town. We know you did it before, just like any other football fan out there!
