Smartphones aren’t launching with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset onboard every day, but when they do, you cannot forget such events! That’s because Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 is a high-end processor that is designed to provide good performance and power efficiency for a range of applications, including gaming, virtual reality, and artificial intelligence. It is based on a 7nm manufacturing process and includes a range of features, such as Qualcomm’s Adreno 640 graphics processor and Qualcomm’s Hexagon 690 processor for AI and machine learning tasks.

iQOO Neo7 Racing Edition has now been launched, and it has a different processor than the original iQOO Neo 7 that came out in October. While that older phone was released with a Dimensity 9000+ chipset onboard, the freshly-released Racing Edition variant is featuring the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, according to GSMArena.

A huge 6.78″ FHD+ display

The iQOO Neo7 Racing edition features a 6.78-inch display with an FHD+ resolution (20:9 aspect ratio), HDR10+ support, and a 120Hz refresh rate. This display is designed to provide clear and detailed image quality, with a high refresh rate that allows for smooth and responsive visuals. The inclusion of HDR10+ support means that the display is capable of reproducing a wide range of colors and luminance levels, allowing for more realistic and immersive visuals. Overall, this display is well-suited for a range of applications, including gaming, media consumption, and general use.

The iQOO Neo7 Racing edition is equipped with a camera setup that includes a 50-megapixel main sensor (ISOCELL GN5), an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera, and a 2-megapixel macro camera. The main module is equipped with optical image stabilization (OIS) to help reduce blur and improve image quality in low-light conditions. The phone also has a 16-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calls.

 A powerful battery

iQOO Neo7 Racing edition is also equipped with a 5,000mAh battery with support for 120W fast charging (wired only). 120W fast charging is a very fast charging speed for a smartphone, and it can significantly reduce the time it takes to charge a phone’s battery. With 120W fast charging, it is possible to charge a phone’s battery from empty to full in a relatively short amount of time, typically under an hour.

However, it is worth noting that fast charging can put a strain on a phone’s battery and may reduce its overall lifespan. In addition, fast charging technology is still relatively new and may not be compatible with all devices. It is always a good idea to carefully read the instructions and follow the recommended charging guidelines to ensure that your phone is charged safely and efficiently.

A 5,000mAh battery is a good size for a smartphone battery, providing a decent amount of power to keep your device running throughout the day. Depending on how you use your phone, a 5,000mAh battery should be able to last for a full day of moderate to heavy use, including activities such as web browsing, social media, and gaming.

However, it is worth noting that battery life can vary significantly depending on how you use your phone and the specific features and settings you have enabled. Factors such as screen brightness, background app activity, and the use of power-intensive features like GPS and data connectivity can all affect battery life.

The iQOO Neo7 Racing edition is a smartphone that is available in several different configurations, with different combinations of RAM and storage. The base model pairs the 8+ Gen 1 chipset with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage and is priced at CNY 2,800 ($400/€380/₹33,000). There are also several other models available, including a version with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, priced at CNY 3,000, and a version with 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, priced at CNY 3,300. The most expensive model is a fully-loaded version with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, which is priced at CNY 3,600.
