The Covid-19 pandemic took the lives of more than 4,926,000 people, and many countries are still struggling with their vaccination campaigns. Vaccine skeptics give different reasons why they do not want to get vaccinated against the new coronavirus. One of them involves the concept of natural immunity.

How many types of immunities are there?

People who get infected with the virus and go through the illness obtain the so-called natural immunity. Those who did not get infected with the virus and are fully vaccinated have the so-called vaccine-induced immunity. Those who got infected with the virus and later got vaccinated have a hybrid immunity. Those unvaccinated who did not get infected yet have no immunity against the Sars-CoV-2 virus. Health experts, including the WHO and the FDA, recommend vaccination for everyone, including those who already got the infection in the past.

A radio host admitted he got infected on purpose

Despite all the fatalities and severe health problems the new coronavirus triggers, a radio host admitted yesterday that he wanted to get infected and tried his best for months to get the disease to achieve natural immunity. Dennis Prager, the host of ‘’The Dennis Prager Show’’, aged 73, admitted that he exposed himself to many people without protection to get infected and is now positive. He wanted to go through the disease and allow his body to achieve natural immunity.

The radio host is unvaccinated, and he believes that natural immunity is the best weapon against the virus. Unfortunately for him, scientific studies determined that it is difficult to determine the duration of natural immunity. The CDC warns that those who get infected and do not get vaccinated are twice more likely to get reinfected than fully vaccinated individuals. Many died and the pandemic is far from over.
