Pokemon Unite Tier List – Which Monsters Will Grant You, The Upper Hand?

Pokemon UNITE is one of the most impressive games of the franchise’s late history.

The MOBA was recently introduced for the Nintendo Switch, with a starting setup of 20 playable Pokemon. However, picking a Pokemon to go to battle with can be a little challenging, especially as the game is so new.

We’ve put together a short tier list to make the choice a bit easier for you!

Please keep in mind that these are our (subjective) picks, meaning that they’re not necessarily the most accurate. Truth be told, when it comes to Pokemon battles, performance often depends on the choices you make and how well you take advantage of them.

S Tier

  • Zeraora
  • Lucario
  • Pikachu
  • Alolan Ninetales
  • Snorlax

S Tier Pokemon are some of the most versatile and are often the likeliest to win a battle.

Snorlax is an interesting presence, especially when you look at the nerfs he’s got in the past.

Nine-Tales got a reputation for its ability to deal much damage. Crustle works in a similar fashion but with even more builds and versatility.

Pickachu can also pack a serious punch, while Lucario can see jungle and lane if needed and is good at doing that, being a very capable all-rounder.

Zeraora is definitely one of the game’s top gankers, which comes with all sorts of benefits.

A Tier – A Reliable Set

  • Mr Mime – Can create barriers and has an upgraded Guard Swap + the ability to self-heal, but lots of practice is needed.
  • Gengar – Very quick out of combat, but it must be level 7 or more to be a significant threat to others with Dream Eater or Hex.
  • Absol – High offence and mobility plus very fast attacks that can deal considerable damage.
  • Slowbro – Perfect when you want to play with the time a little by delaying your opponents while your teammates can deal damage.
  • Wigglytuff – Has numerous efficient moves against foes, while the Unite Move can grant a boost to teammates and damage enemies.
  • Crustle – Very efficient at defending your goals or fellow teammates. Crustle achieves that by slowing down the enemy team.
  • Machamp – When it comes to dealing lots of damage, few Pokemon can match Machamp. When Unite boosts are used, he becomes even more powerful.
  • Eldegoss – One very capable supporter, very balanced between dealing damage and being a healer.

B Tier – The Average Heroes

  • Cinderace – High mobility, allowing for quick battle engagement and lots of damage output. However, it requires lots of future planning because Cinderace’s moves impact each other.
  • Talonflame – To be most efficient and relevant in battle, you must level up Talonflame early in the game.
  • Cramorant – To make the most out of using Cramorant, you must use its Unite Move set in combination when wild or enemy Pokemon are nearby, as it can deal lots of damage rapidly.
  • Greninja – Mostly ineffective during the early phase of a match, which make it turn Greninja into a liability when you are playing against skilled players who know how to exploit that weakness.
  • Gardevoir – Much practice and accommodation are needed to master Gardevoir, but once you cross that border, its powerful attack set will help you cut through most of the Pokemon that cross your path.
  • Garchomp – takes lots of time to evolve, but once you do that, it has a very powerful moveset, making it conveniently efficient against foes and wild Pokemon.

C Tier – The Less Fortunate Ones

  • Venusaur – It looks like an ideal choice during the early phase of a match, but it steadily turns into an inconvenient choice over the time, so you should focus your attention on another attacker.
  • Charizard – It doesn’t have a bad moveset on its own, but it takes lots of time to reach a high level and complete the evolution process, meaning that you will likely spend most of your time not playing as Charizard.

However, though the facts we mentioned regarding the various in-game Pokemon stand true for the most part, it doesn’t necessarily mean that our top-tier picks are also the best picks for you. Each gamer has a different play style, and, in many cases, it is better to use a slightly weaker Pokemon that you know how to take advantage of instead of a powerful one that you are not acquainted with.

The best way to find out what works best for you is via the good old process of trial and error. You simply give a chance to as many Pokemon as you can. It is a time-consuming, tedious task, but it most often leads to impressive outcomes.

Do you agree with our tier list? What would you change? Let us know in the comments! Also, stay tuned as new Pokemon will be added to the game over time, and we’ll be here to provide you with extra tips and tricks to use them to their fullest potential!
