Gege Akutami wrote and illustrated the Jujutsu Kaisen manga series. It was only a matter of time until Jujutsu Kaisen became an anime as well, and the show easily falls into the following categories: Adventure fiction, Dark Fantasy, and Supernatural fiction.

The Jujutsu Kaisen anime presented the adventures of Yuji Itadori, a teenager who joins the Occult Club of his school just for fun. Instead, he discovers something unexpected and frightening: the club members are sorcerers who have the power to manipulate energy from beings and use them in their own way.

The fans are now eager for Season 2 to see how the story will continue, and it seems that they won’t have to wait too long.

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 will be featuring two consecutive cours in 2023

Anime Geek brings us the details we need regarding Season 2 of the Jujutsu Kaisen anime series. We now know that the upcoming season lands next year and that it will be featuring two consecutive cours. That means plenty of material for the fans of the show! For those unaware, a cour refers to a period of three months of TV broadcasting, and that also implies an anime being aired on a portion of a TV program during one period.

This also means that Season 2 might even last longer than the first, considering that the former season of Jujutsu Kaisen lasted only for two cours and 24 episodes.

In Season 2 of Jujutsu Kaisen, Yuji will continue his journey to find and consume the 20 cursed fingers of Sukana. The Shibuja Incident Arc and the flashback story arc Hidden Inventory/Premature Death will be adapted for the new season.

The Jujutsu Kaisen anime series started airing in 2020. It was a great opportunity for many anime lovers to find something entertaining during pandemic times when lockdowns represented something usual for many parts of the world.
