The next week will see the release of Burning Shores, a major plot update for Horizon Forbidden West. And thanks to the launch trailer that you can watch below, we find what exactly lays the groundwork for Aloy’s perilous journey to the ruins of Hollywood. How excited are you about this?!

Burning Shores, which we had the chance to see it at the 2022 Game Awards, takes place after the events of Forbidden West when Aloy visits the ruins of Los Angeles. So, you get why the new expansion will be totally worth it! In the trailer we can learn about how the uninhabited region has developed into a seismically unstable, volcanic archipelago where Aloy, who is now accompanied by an interesting, mysterious new companion, will encounter a new threat and never-before-seen technologies. Quite impressive, isn’t it?!

What else should we expect from the new Burning Shores expansion?

The price of $19.99 for Burning Shores is exclusive to the PlayStation 5. To begin the expansion, players must have finished the main campaign in its entirety. After they have, Aloy will get a call on her Focus, and that will start the DLC. Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores will officially air on April 19.

Developed by Guerrilla Games and released by Sony Interactive Entertainment in 2022, Horizon Forbidden West is one of the best action role-playing games we’ve seen in a while. The game is also Horizon Zero Dawn’s sequel, which makes things even more cooler! The plot is set in a post-apocalyptic version of the Western United States that is mending from the effects of an extinction event brought on by a renegade robot swarm. What’s best in the game is that we explore different experiences while using ranged and melee weaponry against hostile machine entities to traverse the open environment and fulfill tasks.
