Back in October 2022, Google joined the smartwatch market due to the release of its Pixel Watch. The new wearable adds the renowned Google Assistant app right to the user’s wrist, among other important features. This means that you can simply ask your Google Pixel Watch what to do for you by speaking to the Google Assistant app just in the way you have been doing while using your smartphone.

But as in the case of any other tech product that’s connected to the internet, Google Pixel Watch also receives updates. The smartwatch is now getting its June 2023 update (aka the RWDC.230605.004 version) that brings improvements for the security area along with bug fixes, according to XDA.

No major features available

The new June 2023 update doesn’t bring any major features for the new Google Pixel Watch smartwatch. The new June 2023 update is only aimed at providing bug fixes, security patches, and general improvements. While no significant new features are included in the patch notes, the focus is on enhancing stability and ensuring better security for the smartwatches that have the “Google” logo on them.

On its support page, Google wrote:

We have provided the monthly software update for June 2023. All supported Pixel Watch devices running Wear OS 3.5 will receive these software updates starting today. The rollout will continue over the next week in phases depending on carrier and device. Users will receive a notification once the OTA becomes available for their device. We encourage you to update to receive the latest software.

The new update is being rolled out gradually over the course of a week, which means that you should better keep an eye on your Google smartwatch if you have such a device. In addition, Google has shared its plans for Wear OS 4, which include a Watch Face Format tool to simplify watch face design for developers.
