Pokemon Go 5th Anniversary Big Event – Features, Bonuses, Flying Pikachu, and More

Pokemon Go is celebrating its 5th anniversary! The special event comes with a bunch of gifts for all fans, including a Flying Balloon Pikachu and fantastic encounters with a Shiny Meltan.

After 5 incredible years, Niantic is honoring the milestone with a big event that will last a week. Players can now enjoy a new in-game experience and for those who will show up to the party, many rewards will be available.

Pokemon Go’s 5th Anniversary: Launch Date

Pokemon Go’s anniversary event aired on July 6 at 10 AM and it will be available until July 15 at 8 PM local time. We have plenty of time to explore what Niantic has in store for us, and more other surprises yet to be discovered!

Pokemon Go’s 5th Anniversary: Features Available

We’ve compiled a list of every feature Pokemon Go’s 5th anniversary brings for fans:

• PokeStop Spawns with Lure: Charmander, Chikorita, Piplup, Fennekin & Froakie, Bulbasaur, Squirtle, Cyandaquil, Treecko, Torchic, Turtwig, Snivy, Chimchar, Tepig, Totodile, Totodile, Mudkip, Chimchar, Oshawott, and Chespin; trainers have to complete Field Research first;
• Collection Challenge rewards: flying Pikachu with a 5-shaped cute balloon, Poke Balls, and Rare Candy;
• One-star raids: Fennekin, Flying Pikachu with a 5-shaped balloon, Darumaka, Chespin, and Froakie;
• Bonus Field Research Task encounters: Charmander, Chikorita, Turtwig, Bulbasaur, Squirtle, Cyndaquil, Totodile, Mudkip, Chimchar, Piplup, Snivy, Oshawott, Fennekin & Froakie, Tepig, and Chespin;
• Wild spawns: Charmander, Torchic, Snivy, Bulbasaur, Squirtle, Treecko, Tepig, and Oshawott;
• Spin PokeStop rewards: spin PokeStop or Gyms to get 5th anniversary Gift stickers;
• Jump-Start Special Research returns: those who missed out the Special Research can get this during the special event;
• In-Game Fireworks: fireworks will light up the sky around the map during the event.

As for bonuses, you’ll find:

• Extended Lure Modules: all Lure Modules last for 1 hour, including Mossy, Rainy Lure, Glacial, and Magnetic Lure Modules.

Pokemon Go’s 5th Anniversary: Rare Pokemon

The special event will feature some classic rare ‘mon you’ll surely love! From the cute Flying Balloon Pikachu to the Mythical Melmetal and its Shiny version.

Shiny Meltan will be available only if you activate the Mystery Box.
