Meizu 20 and 20 Pro Release: The New Flagships Feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Chipset – Check Out the Specs

Meizu, a Chinese smartphone brand, has released two new Android flagship phones, the Meizu 20 and the Meizu 20 Pro. The phones have a 6.55-inch and 6.81-inch OLED display, respectively, with the Meizu 20 having a 144Hz refresh rate and the Pro model having a 120Hz refresh rate and LTPO technology. Both phones are powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC and come with at least 12GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, as spotted by Notebookcheck on Meizu’s website. The Meizu 20 series also includes Wi-Fi 7 support and runs on the Flyme 10-based UI.

The Meizu 20 series has metallic housing and fast charging capabilities, with the Meizu 20 offering wired charging with 67W “mCharge” and the Meizu 20 Pro offering 80W wired charging and wireless charging at 50W. The Pro model also has three rear cameras, while the Meizu 20 has one main camera and two backup lenses.

The Meizu 20 series is available for pre-order in China, with the base model priced at 2,999 yuan (~US$436) and the Pro model at 3,999 yuan (~US$582) for the 12GB RAM and 128GB internal storage configuration. Meizu is competing with other high-end smartphone brands such as Xiaomi and OnePlus and is aiming to attract customers with its new offerings’ features and affordable pricing.

Meizu has a reputation for producing high-quality smartphones with innovative features. However, like any smartphone manufacturer, they have had their hits and misses over the years. Some of their more recent releases have received mixed reviews, with some critics praising their sleek design and impressive specs while others have criticized issues such as subpar cameras and software. Overall, Meizu has a loyal fan base and is known for offering good value for money, especially in the mid-range smartphone market.

With the launch of their new 20 series, Meizu is hoping to take on other popular Android smartphone brands, such as Xiaomi and OnePlus, offering competitive specs and features at a lower price point.
