Apple’s Rumored M3 Pro Chipset Might Come With Up to 12 CPU Cores

Another day, another Apple rumor that’s hard to ignore. This time around: the M3 Pro chipsets! According to Mark Gurman, the tech giant based in Cupertino is quite busy these days, testing a high-class M3 chipset with a 12-core processor and an 18-core GPU. Well, that’s quite impressive, considering all that power, right?!

Gurman further went on and claimed that a source supplied him with App Store developer logs. What’s so special about those logs, you may ask?! They’re actually showing how a chip is operating on a next-gen MacBook Pro. As a result, Gurman detailed that the M3 model Apple is currently testing could totally be the entry-level M3 Pro that we could finally be released in 2024! That’s quite amazing if everything turns out to be accurate. Remember that Apple usually doesn’t confirm such things until the big launch event, so take everything with a pinch of salt.

What are your thoughts so far about the next-gen M3 Apple chips? How about the upcoming MacBooks?

The M3 series is highly anticipated to feature from TSMC’s upcoming 3nm node process, which is quite powerful. The actual decrease in core density would seem to be somehow caused by the major switch from 5nm to a 3nm tech. Previously, the M1 Pro and M2 Pro had 14 and 16-core GPUs in addition to eight and 10-core CPUs. Now, we can imagine the powerhouse that the future MacBook would be!

Apple is also expected to first introduce the regular M3 processor before announcing the M3 Pro. The first MacBooks with M3 processors, according to Gurman. He said:

[…] should start showing up toward the end of the year or early next year.

The much-awaited WWDC 2023, which is next month, the tech giant is anticipated to reveal its newest MacBook, also the long-rumored 15-inch MacBook Air. Isn’t that cool?! Fingers crossed that Apple brings everything we wished for.
