Android 13 One UI 5 Beta Rolls Out On Galaxy S22 Devices

Last week, Samsung launched the One UI 5 beta program, giving customers of the Galaxy S22 series access to a preview version of the company’s forthcoming operating system as part of the Android 13 campaign. As is customary, the rollout started in a limited number of countries, in this case, Germany and South Korea. Since then, smartphone users all around the globe have been speculating about when they would begin receiving the update. The US Galaxy S22 series is now compatible with the One UI 5 beta.

Launching with the August 2022 security patch level, firmware version S90xUSQU2ZVH4 (for carrier-locked devices) / S90xU1UEU2ZVH4 (for carrier-unlocked models) in the US comes with the first beta release of One UI 5.0. Only T-Mobile customers have been allowed to join the test program so far. It’s conceivable that support for other carriers may be added in the future, or you can cross-flash a suitable firmware to get started right now.

Samsung announced the One UI 5 Open Beta Program with a focus on the new dynamic color themes, improved notification management, redesigned sound and vibration controls, and other improvements to the One UI foundation. There’s more to it than that, however, so be sure to read our in-depth exploration of the new user interface.

The Samsung Members app is where you’ll fill out your registration for the One UI 5 beta. Despite registering, there is no assurance that you will be included in the beta test since Samsung may have a limit on the amount of devices it will support. You should assume that any beta program will have flaws, as is customary for such releases. Keep clear from the beta programs if you want a rock-solid operating system that reliably meets all of your demands.
