iOS 16 Beta 5 Is Now Out For Developers – Here’s What’s New

During the WWDC22 keynote, Apple introduced iOS 16, iPadOS 16, and macOS Ventura. This year, the iPhone’s Lock Screen became a focal point of discussion. It’s no longer the case that all iPhone Lock Screens look the same. The wallpapers, widgets, and fonts may now be customized by the user, and there is even a 3D effect available for the wallpapers. Nonetheless, iOS 16 brings a lot more than that to the table. In addition, we saw enhancements to a number of other applications, including Mail, Messages, FaceTime, Reminders, and more. Most of the new features that Apple promised during its keynote were included in the earlier betas. Some other shifts are on the horizon, however. The features of iOS 16 beta 5 are as follows.

  • A new audio visualizer is included in iOS 16 beta 5 for use with the Lock Screen media player. The animations are timed to the beat of the music being played.
  • Users with notched iPhones will now be able to see their battery life in the status bar with iOS 16 beta 5. However, it seems that the iPhone XR, iPhone 11, iPhone 12 Mini, and iPhone 13 Mini are not compatible with this function.

  • The Find My and Photos applications in iOS 16 beta 5 now include a Splash Screen. They have the most up-to-date features of various Apple programs, such as the Photos Shared Library and Find My support for AirPods.

You may learn more about the changes and improvements made to this release by reading Apple’s Release Notes in the interim.

The Undo Send function in the Mail app may be disabled entirely or its duration altered in iOS 16 beta 4. No options for customizing or disabling the functionality existed before beta 4.

An accessibility toggle has been added to the Settings app in iOS 16 beta 4 that allows you utilise your iPhone to manage other neighboring Apple devices. The new shortcut, which is part of the company’s Switch Control settings, enables you to do actions such as adjusting the volume or playback, opening Siri or the Control Center, and more, on a different device.
