Microsoft continues its struggle to try to convince people to make the shift to its latest operating system, meaning Windows 11. However, the majority cling to Windows 10, and a good part of them still sigh after the legendary Windows 7 that lost all technical support.
Microsoft is currently rolling out the Patch Tuesday updates for June, which grants plenty of new features to Windows 11, according to XDA. If you’re among those who want to see seconds in your taskbar clock, well, we have great news for you!
The latest Patch Tuesday update for Windows 11, which is known as version 22H2, includes a feature that allows the taskbar clock to display seconds, among other new functionalities. This new feature was demanded by some users after Microsoft removed the clock flyout that was present in Windows 10.
In addition to the seconds display in the taskbar clock, the update also adds several other changes and improvements to Windows 11-based laptops and desktop PCs. These include privacy settings for presence sensors on laptops, new pages in the Settings app for USB4 devices and hubs, the chance to enable display power savings while plugged in, as well as the option to have the touch keyboard open automatically when the user clicks a text field.
Accessibility enhancements are also part of the new Windows 11 update, with support for more languages in live captions and expanded voice access dialects. But we’re not done with the new improvements that the new Windows 11 update brings! Keyboard access keys in the File Explorer context menu are also there, as it is the ability to create live kernel memory dumps in the Task Manager (a feature geared towards developers). If you’ve been dreaming of having support for Bluetooth LE Audio, as well as various smaller improvements, well, you’re in luck! Those functionalities are now present in Windows 11 as well.
The update also doesn’t neglect several known issues, as it includes security fixes as well.
Patch Tuesday updates are typically mandatory and will be installed automatically as long as your laptop or desktop PC is connected to the internet.
