Microsoft has recently announced Window 11, and we cannot wait to see the final product. There are plenty of new features coming our way. We’re getting a new design, a new notification centre, and this one comes with Android App support. But there is one thing that may not be exactly perfect: its system requirements.
It seems that the RAM and storage requirements have doubled to 4GB and 32GB, but this is not necessarily what triggers people. There are two things that upset fans: the TPM requirement and CPU requirements. This new version of Windows may not support older laptops.
The CPU requirements are not that bad: the only real difference stands in the fact that the 32-bit CPUs and single-core CPUs are not supported. Microsoft has published a list of supported CPUs: Intel 8th-gen and newer are supported, as well as AMD Zen 2 APUs. But this means that, if you have a three-year-old laptop, it may not be supported.
What is with all of these changes?
When first introducing Windows 11, they didn’t say anything about all of these changes. All of the requirements were discovered in the documentation. Then, the company came with a blog post four days later, and they have given us some reasons: security, reliability, compatibility.
