WhatsApp Prepares to Add Animated Emoji

As far as we can tell, WhatsApp is not wasting time when it comes to frequently updating the app itself. There’s no wonder why Meta is applying such a policy, though – there are over 2 billion users out there who need to be regularly satisfied.

Of course, not everybody is willing to grab the latest update that WhatsApp throws at its users. But at the same time, the app can’t call off an update simply because there are some folks who don’t like it. Ultimately, any apps has its fans and haters, as that’s pretty much how things go in life in the case of any product.

WhatsApp might soon add animated emoji to a beta update

Not everybody is a fan of emojis, that’s for sure. Even so, WhatsApp devs are preparing to bring animated emojis to the app in a future beta update, according to WABetaInfo. Although haters will say that the devs responsible for the famous instant-messaging app are wasting time with such a feature, there are plenty of folks out there who want more emojis on the platform. Furthermore, animated emojis could allow them to be more expressive in their instant messages to one another or even in WhatsApp groups.

If the information is true, Meta is collaborating with Lottie in order to bring animated emojis on WhatsApp. The feature is currently under development, which means that the devs still have some trouble figuring out how exactly the animated emojis will look.

Some users are even accusing WhatsApp of buying time in order to drag more users onto the platform, but that might not be the case judging by the evidence we have.
