The New 15-inch MacBook Air is Here and It Has Already Made a Huge Impression

The new 15-inch MacBook Air from Apple is the thinnest laptop in the world. Or at least that’s what the tech giant based in Cupertino claims! The company also asserts its product will be “the world’s best 15-inch laptop,” so yes, pretty much everything that starts with best will further follow the newest 15-inch MacBook Air.

The best thing, though, is that Apple’s M2 processor will be included. How about that?! Compared to previous models, how drastically do you think the new 15-inch MacBook Air differs? Hmm, let’s find out.

To begin, the new 15-inch MacBook Air has quite a starting price of $1,299 and will be available the following week. Apple says the new Air will offer up to 18 hours of battery life and up to 12 times quicker than the fastest Intel MacBook Air versions. They say it’s better than “a best-selling 15-inch Intel Core i7 PC laptop” in every way: it’s 40% slimmer, twice as quick, and half a pound lighter.

And it gets better!

There are four color options for the 15-inch MacBook Air: space gray, midnight, starlight, and silver. It has two USB-C Thunderbolt connections that can power up to a 6K external display. It sports a fantastically brilliant 15.3-inch screen (with bezels measuring just around five millimeters). Additionally, there is a 1080p FaceTime HD webcam, six speakers (two teeters and two sets of force-canceling woofers), spatial audio, Dolby Atmos, and three microphones with “advanced beamforming algorithms.”

Mac OS X users have been without a viable 15-inch alternative for quite some time. Some creative software may not work well on a 14-inch screen, while a 16-inch Pro may be too large to transport well alongside other equipment.

Quite impressive, isn’t it?!

The upcoming 15-inch MacBook Air will be similar to previous versions in that it will not feature a fan. The current operating system is macOS Ventura, and later this autumn, macOS Sonoma will be made available. People who desire a big screen but don’t require the higher processing speed (and higher price) of the 14-inch or 16-inch Pro versions will likely be interested in the 15-inch Air.
