Sony Reveals Two Powerful and Expensive Walkman Models

Remember those days when people were listening to music on other gadgets but their smartphones? While many believe that those days are long gone, Sony is eager to prove us otherwise. The Japanese tech giant has unveiled two Walkman models known as NW-WM1ZM2 and NW-WM1AM2, according to pocket-lint.com.

The two Walkman devices offer a better experience than most smartphones when it comes to listening to music. Finding a gadget that has everything but the kitchen sink when it comes to music isn’t actually like a walk in the park. But you certainly should give some attention to Sony’s new NW-WM1ZM2 and NW-WM1AM2 models, although we must warn you: they are certainly NOT cheap.

NW-WM1AM2 is the cheaper model, priced at $1,399

NW-WM1AM2 costs $1,399, while its partner is much more expensive: $3,699. Both devices come equipped with Wi-Fi, so you can always stream some music as well while you’re waiting for the bus or just taking a chill pill. If you’re not satisfied with the amount of storage the two devices are offering (128GB and 256GB), you can also opt for a microSD card that can expand it much further.

As you’ve probably already guessed, the chassis of the ZM2 model is made gold-plated but also with oxygen-free copper. Sony explains the purpose of such a structure, as trustedreviews.com quotes:

This realises a stronger digital ground and higher rigidity, enabling clear, expansive sound, so you can experience each instrument as if it were performing live.

The battery of the two Walkman models is also worth mentioning, as it can grant up to 40 hours of activity while the user is listening to 96kHz FLAC High-Resolution Audio files.
