Motorola Moto G Play (2023) Launches in the US

Motorola is once again up to some new tech gimmicks, as the company has already launched the 2023 version of the Moto G Play phone in the States. The phone represents the successor to the 2021 version which was also known as the Motorola Moto G Play.

GSMArena brings the news of the arrival of the Motorola Moto G Play (2023) in the US. By taking a peek at the list of specs, it doesn’t take long to realize that the new phone might actually have less to offer compared to its predecessor.

Powered by the Helio G37 chipset

The specs of the new Motorola Moto G Play (2023) are far from impressive, but nobody said we’re talking about a flagship. The device is powered by the Mediatek MT6765 Helio G37 (12 nm) chipset. It’s clearly a weak chipset, as it can score only about 179 single-core points and 952 multi-core points in Geekbench 5.

Moto G Play (2023) also comes with only 3GB of RAM, which is clearly something that you rarely see nowadays. There’s only 32GB of internal storage available, but users can expand it by adding a microSDXC memory card. The IPS LCD display is not exactly small, as it reaches 6.5 inches and has a refresh rate of 90Hz.

The cameras of the Moto G Play (2023) are also pretty basic. There’s a triple camera setup mounted on the rear that has a wide lens of 16MP and two 2MP lenses, macro, and depth. Both the rear and front cameras can record video in only Full HD quality. The selfie camera consists of a wide 5MP lens.

Motorola Moto G Play (2023) is available for the price of $170, and it comes with Android 12 out of the box. That means that you’ll have some time to wait for the Android 13 to land if the phone is indeed targeted by the update.
