Google Pixel 8’s Leaked Display Offers Quite the Glimpse into What’s Coming

The most recent Google Pixel 8 leak outlines a display that is brighter, can reach up to 120Hz, and has a smaller dimension. It has been reported by Kamila Wojciechowska of Android Authority that both the Pixel 8 and the Pixel 8 Pro will have screens that are smaller than their predecessors (excuse me, what?!). The Google Pixel 8 is expected to have a measurement of 6.17 inches, which is a decrease from the previous 6.31 inches. That was a very unexpected turn of events for like everyone!

As another Pixel 8 leak has surfaced online, giving fresh information on Google’s soon-to-be-released smartphones, including information regarding the display on both of the devices, we learn that the refresh rate on the smaller Pixel 8 will eventually be upgraded to 120Hz, but the resolution will remain the same as FHD+ (2400×1080).

A size decrease is also planned for the Pixel 8 Pro, although it’s quite unlikely that anyone would notice it. How so? The display will still be 6.7 inches in size, but the panel will measure only one millimeter less wide than it does currently. It is interesting to note, however, that the resolution of the Pixel 8 Pro will allegedly be lower than that of the Pixel 6 Pro and 7 Pro, falling from 3120 by 1440 to 2992 by 1344. This results in a decrease in the number of pixels per inch, which now stands at 490 instead of 512.

And that’s rather a significant point!

It appears that the edges of the screen on both phones will undergo significant redesigns as well, maybe as a direct result of the Pro model’s adoption of a glass back cover.

On the other hand, it appears that the Pro has a higher refresh rate, which is quite impressive. But definitely, the fact that the phone will be able to switch between many refresh rate settings, including 5Hz, 10Hz, and 30Hz, is one of the coolest features ever! As for the Pixel 8. the phone is said to support frame rates of 10Hz, 30Hz, 60Hz, and 120Hz.

Finally, the newly revealed information about the Pixel 8 also takes care of the brightness levels. It appears that the maximum brightness of the Pixel 8 will be 1,400 nits, while the Pixel 8 Pro can reach 1,600 nits.
