Google Maps Gets Rid of Specific Feature

Along with Waze, Google Maps is the other navigation app owned by the tech behemoth from Mountain View that most people nowadays cannot imagine their lives without. But you know what they say that you just can’t have them all in life, and it even applies to Google’s software.

According to AutoEvolution.com, Google Maps won’t have the schedule explorer anymore. Google has decided that the app will do fine without the feature, especially since pretty much nobody was using it. Considering the name itself of the feature, there’s no need to be Einstein’s reincarnation to figure out what it was all about.

A silent move from Google

Google decided to pull out the schedule explorer feature from its Maps software without saying a word about it. No patch notes reveal, no official announcement, nothing. Perhaps there will be some folks who will protest against Google’s harsh move, even though we can assume that there weren’t many fans of it.

Otherwise, Google Maps remains a highly-important app. Here’s how the Play Store describes it:

Google Maps is so massive that it has more than 20 petabytes of data, meaning about 20,500 terabytes. One terabyte is equal to 1,000 gigabytes. The aerial and satellite images receive updates once every two weeks.

To make things even weirder, there’s no replacement available for the feature that has been removed. However, we can expect that Google will say something about the case soon enough.
