The South Korean government announced that BTS members can apply for a delay of their mandatory military service. In South Korea, all male citizens need to enlist for two years, and the maximum age is 28. However, last year, the Korean Parliament decided that idols can wait until they are 30 to enlist, as they have many projects and represent the Korean culture worldwide.

Jin will soon turn 30

Next year, BTS’s Jin will turn 30, and this is the maximum age for idols to enlist in the military service. It seems that their hiatus will not happen that soon, as sources write that the South Korean Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism is ready to postpone it. BTS band has brought major benefits to South Korea and further boosted the country’s economy.

BTS celebrated their eighth anniversary

The band held the 2021 Muster Sowoozoo, a live stream lasting two days, from the 14th to the 15th of June. ARMYs watched Suga, Jin, J-Hope, RM, Jungkook, and Jimin perform 15 songs and dance. After the event, the members wrote that they had a lot of fun and cannot wait until the COVID-19 pandemic situation improves to perform in front of their fans.

If all BTS seven members start their military service simultaneously, the band’s activities will be on hold for two years. If they enter the military service separately, the band can operate with fewer members and continue some of their projects. The second option is the most popular among idol bands. In addition, before being assigned a job inside the military, each person needs to go through training which usually lasts about three weeks. After that, they are assigned a role, considering their skills and health situation.
