Boost Your Immunity and Protect Your Body: What Should You Know

There are many protective measures you might want to follow and take to protect your body against illness or infection from any virus. But, can they be effective? Also, what should you try?

According to specialists, following a straightforward routine not only will strengthen your immune system but will also help you understand your body better.

Here is what you need to know.

Come up With a Healthy Eating Plan

Plan your meals efficiently so your immunity will keep up going strong! Dr. Luiza Petre, M.D. (board-certified cardiologist and nutrition expert), recommends us to eat fruits and vegetables because they contain some natural components (phytonutrients) that can fight against inflammation.

Dr. Petre explains:

“Healthy fats, such as monounsaturated fats and omega-3 fatty acids also help inflammation.”

Add Some Vitamin C

Vitamin C has been proved to prevent or even delay some heart diseases while fighting infections. Eating vitamin C-rich vegetables and fruits will also promote healthy aging!

No More Processed Foods

Keeping chronic inflammation safe should be a priority! And how can you do that?

Following a fresh, clean diet, and avoiding processed foods as much as possible, is a start. Dr. Petre recommends:

“[…] eating organic unprocessed foods, avoid sugar and anything that comes in a box.”

Try Some Omega-3-rich Foods

Did you know that sardines, avocado, salmon, and nuts are incredible omega-3-rich foods? They can fight viruses efficiently and improve the function of immune cells, by enhancing white blood cell function.

Take Probiotics

Probiotics support a healthy gut, strengthening your immune system and balancing the gut microbiome.

You can take some probiotics supplements or eat fermented foods. Be sure to talk with a specialist first to recommend you the best diet plan!

Meditate

Meditation has been proved to lower cortisol and stress levels, improving your body’s response to fight viruses.

According to scientists, what we feel and think can influence our immune system via chemical messages from our brains. So, you can imagine why negative thinking triggers bad stuff to our immune system. Everything is connected!
