Apple’s iOS 17 Will Bring Some Requested Features

Apple typically releases new iOS updates on an annual basis, usually during the company’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in the early summer. These updates usually coincide with the release of new hardware products, such as iPhones and iPads. In addition to these major updates, Apple also releases minor updates throughout the year to address bugs and security issues.

The Cupertino-based tech behemoth will release iOS 17 at some point this fall, and there are already strong reasons to be excited if you have an iPhone at home. Mark Gurman’s new report via Bloomberg indicates that Apple is preparing for a major shift in strategy when it comes to the upcoming iOS update, as Macworld has spotted.

iOS 17 will focus a lot on new features

Apple’s next iOS release, iOS 17, was expected to prioritize bug fixes and performance improvements, but the new report in question suggests that it will actually be heavy on new features. While specific details are not revealed, the features are said to be highly requested by iPhone users, though smaller in scope compared to previous releases.

Apple launched its highly-anticipated iPhone 14  back in September 2022, which means that we shouldn’t exclude the possibility at all for the tech behemoth to consider implementing some improvements for the flagship series as well. We can expect the iPhone 14 lineup to be able to run iOS 17 when the update comes out, although it’s impossible to say for sure how the new version will behave on those iPhones. However, Apple is well-known for creating an almost seamless symbiosis between the software and hardware areas of its products.

The official release date for iOS 17 has not been announced yet, but it will likely be unveiled at WWDC in June before its full release in the fall. It is unclear if the same strategy will be applied to iPadOS 17 and macOS 14.
