Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom – Are Hearts or Stamina Better to Collect?

This week sees the release of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, and when players set out on their quest it might be confusing to decide whether to prioritize improving Link’s stamina or heart containers.

The way stats function hasn’t changed much, despite the fact that Tears of the Kingdom introduces many novel elements to the plot and setting.

While both a bigger stamina wheel and bigger heart containers have their advantages, it will be best in the long run to concentrate on just one of the two.

Players must travel to the shrines that are strewn around Hyrule in order to boost either the heart containers or stamina wheel.

Upon completing any shrine, Link gets rewarded one Light of Blessing; When he has acquired four of them, they can be exchanged at a Goddess Statue for heart container or a stamina vessel.

Containers are equivalent to a whole new heart while the stamina vessels will enhance Link’s wheel by one-fifth.

In general, it’s preferable for players to concentrate on boosting Link’s stamina.

This is partly because Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom introduces a number of new abilities that make use of the stat, such Ascend, which is quite helpful for exploring higher terrain.

The new, improved surroundings in the game greatly increase stamina’s value.

The game features a lot of verticality, with certain locations perched high in the sky and only accessible by glider, which may be exhausting.

Aside from exploration, there is still another crucial motivation for players to build up their stamina in the game: getting access to the Master Sword.

Link will be prepared to use the magical weapon once more, but only after having taken it from a light dragon’s head.

The metric is crucial to furthering the plot and preserving the kingdom since players will need a lot of stamina to do this, which is most likely at least two full wheels.

Of course, this does not imply that players should totally disregard expanding their Heart Containers.

It goes without saying that stamina is the more crucial attribute when it comes to exploring and working toward mastering the Master Sword, but Link must also have enough health to boldly face the numerous monsters he’ll encounter along the route.

The flexibility that games like The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom provide players in terms of growth, enabling them to level up Link on their own terms, means that there is ultimately no wrong way to play so just follow your own path, have fun and everything should be great!
