YouTube Extends the 1080p Premium Enhanced Bitrate Offer

YouTube has extended its improved 1080p quality option to all its Premium subscribers worldwide, as The Verge reveals. Initially launched on iOS after tests, this enhanced bitrate feature enhances clarity and detail for videos. While non-Premium users still have access to the usual 1080p, the upgraded version offers sharper visuals, particularly for videos with intricate details and motion.

The rollout is expanding to living room devices such as Chromecasts and gaming consoles. However, Android support for the feature is not fully confirmed for now, though it reportedly appeared for some users in June.

Here’s a statement coming from the YouTube Official Blog that was issued back in April:

To provide an even higher video quality experience for our Premium members, in the coming weeks we’ll be launching an enhanced bitrate version of 1080p HD video quality starting on iOS (and an experiment coming to Web soon too.) While all users will still have access to 1080p, this enhanced 1080p quality setting will look extra crisp and clear, especially for videos with lots of detail and motion.

You can indulge in an uninterrupted musical journey with the YouTube Music app, where you can enjoy an extensive collection of your favorite songs without the intrusion of ads. All you have to do is choose a subscription plan tailored to your preferences – whether you’re an individual who wants a seamless listening experience. For a mere $13.99 per month, you can relish a subscription that caters solely to you, giving you the chance to savor the melodies you love without any interruptions.

However, YouTube is more than just a streaming service. It can provide you access to just about any type of content you want: music, movie trailers or even entire movies, stand-up comedy acts, tutorials about any field, and a lot more.
