WhatsApp will introduce in 2021 the possibility to make video and audio calls from the desktop, announced a company official, quoted by Reuters. Due to the pandemic, more and more people are participating in desktop discussions and conferences on applications such as Google Meet, Zoom or Microsoft Teams.
WhatsApp has tested the new features on a small number of users and has come to the conclusion that it can launch it globally now, just before the holidays.
The second wave of the pandemic makes many people unable to travel on holiday to meet families and so people will spend a lot of time on the internet.
Zoom has announced that the 40-minute limit conversations on holiday will be removed on unsubscribed accounts and Google has removed the 60-minute limit on Meet by March.
