Twitter is Now ‘X’ – Elon Musk Has Just Rebranded One of the Biggest Social Platforms

Bye, bye blue birdy! It looks like the end of an era or the beginning of something new. Either way, Elon Musk has just ‘killed’ the blue bird logo of Twitter. On the PC version of the social network, the blue bird has been replaced with the new white X on a black backdrop. However, the change has not yet been implemented into the mobile app. And that’s not the only thing that’s been modified.

In a tweet that Musk posted on Sunday (July 23), he stated that he was considering altering the logo for Twitter:

And soon, we shall bid adieu to the Twitter brand and, gradually, all the birds.

It was quite difficult to decipher. After that, Musk updated his profile image on Twitter to reflect the new logo, and he included “X.com” in his bio. And the explanation for this is fairly straightforward: Musk is working on a “super app” that he calls X, which is his concept for a new sort of social media network. He has, in fact, been discussing developing this app for months. Quite intriguing!

Twitter’s co-founder Biz Stone stated in 2011 that the name “Larry” for the famous tiny bird is an homage to basketball great and Boston Celtics legend Larry Bird. Bird was a member of the Boston Celtics. People started grieving the loss of the logo on Twitter, including Martin Grasser, who was the one who designed it back in 2012.

The new CEO of Twitter, Linda Yaccarino, stated that the platform’s rebranding was an exhilarating fresh chance in a post that she published on Twitter. She went on to explain:

Twitter made one massive impression and changed the way we communicate. Now, X will go further, transforming the global town square.

Although no one is really sure what piques Musk’s interest in the letter X, he has long had a preoccupation with it. In 1999, for instance, he launched one of his earliest businesses, which was a banking website called X.com. Who can predict what will happen with X in the years to come?! Now all we can do is wait and watch what unfolds.
