The U.S Could Have 2.400 Covid Death per Day Due to the Latest Covid-19 Wave

Health experts and epidemiologists have been working around the clock since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic. It has been a difficult task to monitor all SARS-CoV-2 variants and predict and create future scenarios. However, indicators that could help with the forecast are the vaccination rates across the U.S and the Delta variant statistics, and other data such as daily new infections. The U.S has reached more than 100,000 daily rates of hospitalizations and over 1,500 death per day. The numbers only get worse, and it seems that the fourth wave has hit hard.

IHME predicts more than 2,400 Covid deaths per day this fall

According to the University of Washington Institute of Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME) data, the U.S could have more than 2,400 Covid death per day during this fall. By December 1st, there could be a total of more than 700,000 Covid deaths. If these milestones are reached, there could be even harsher restrictions imposed by the federal government and local authorities. Hospital systems across the U.S are overwhelmed traveling nurses became a reality.

Patients with non-Covid illnesses are in danger

Because hospitals and ICU units are overwhelmed with Covid-19 patients and health providers are burnout, those who suffer from health conditions or illnesses do not receive proper treatment on time. The Biden administration has been trying to speed the vaccination campaign as many of the most affected states by the fourth wave have lower vaccination rates.

Many companies and public institutions have issued vaccination mandates, and those who refuse vaccination will have to find another job. Currently, there are around 80 million unvaccinated U.S residents and this could make things worse during the cold season.
