The ‘Star Wars Jedi: Survivor’ Video Game Will Feature an AI Companion – Here’s Everything You Need to Know!

Cal Kestis will have a bit more assistance than he had in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order when Star Wars Jedi: Survivor debuts later this year.

Cal will be assisted in missions by AI companions thanks to a new mechanism in the game known as “Characters-in-Gameplay,” according to developer Respawn Entertainment.

The Malicos boss battle in Jedi: Fallen Order, when Cal received aid from Merrin, served as the model for the system.

With the addition of the new character, Bode Akuna, who debuted in the game’s launch trailer, Jedi: Survivor is sure to expand on that.

Bode will reportedly play a significant part in battles, despite the fact that these kinds of AI companions have historically had a mixed record of performance in video games.

Joanna Robb, a technical designer for the Jedi: Survivor storyline, confirmed to IGN that while Bode may fight enemies all on his own, Cal can give him commands too so everything should be pretty balanced.

Robb shared via IGN that “When you see a good opportunity, you can give Bode a signal to perform the attack, and he will use his jetpack to ram enemies with a brutal dropkick, and then quickly follows it up by slamming down a shock grenade in order to stun other nearby enemies. It is a great way to send a difficult enemy flying, taking them out of the fight briefly, or you can run them down with a sprint attack to get a fast hit in.”

Robb continued by teasing that Kestis would have other traveling companions in addition to Bode.

No further companions have been disclosed at this time, however, but it’ll be really interesting to find out how these characters can differ from one another and how they each support Cal’s combat style in different ways.

Of course, fans still have to patiently wait to learn what else is revealed prior to the release of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor this spring.

On April 28, P55, Xbox X|S, and PC versions of the game will be released so look forward to the big day!
