The Sims 5 – New Job Offering At Maxis Hints Towards Possible The Sims Spin-Off

Various new adverts started appearing online, suggesting that the development for The Sims 5 (or whatever the new title could be) is going strong.

Many rumours spoke about the future of The Sims 4 and what the next edition to the franchise will look like and when will it be introduced to the gamers.

One job ad posted by Maxis recently speaks about the request of an XD Designer – UI / Visual Designer.

“We are looking for an XD Designer who will focus exclusively on UI for a minimum of 2 years of the project development. After this period, this role could become a hybrid UI/UX role.” – extract from the ad.

The two-year time frame is impressive, to say the least, especially when you look at the rest of the ads posted by the developer.

Games typically take years to develop, especially when they are part of huge franchises like Grand Theft Auto or The Sims.

The online Sims Community reported an extra job listing that also features extra information into what could be available in the popular franchise’s next instalment.

The other ad speaks of a Senior CAS Artist for “new and existing IP.”

Also, “the project” is mentioned. It may refer to new rather than existing IP, which could be good news for gamers, because it may be related to an incoming spin-off or full-fledged game.

The Sims 4 requires a lot of panel beating currently, which poses a great set of challenges for developers. Glitches tend to appear with each new update, and hotfixes have to be developed rapidly, so gamers are kept happy.
