The business has also revealed that it would be working with Motorola to make the upcoming Defy smartphone the first Android device to support the company’s two-way satellite messaging service.

The service did not appear out of thin air; rather, the business claims it required two years and collaboration with organizations like MediaTek, FocusPoint International, and Skylo to develop. The service will primarily depend on tiered monthly service rates that give a certain amount of messages per tier, with emergency communication services planned to be offered for free during the first year of operation.
