Honor, the subsidiary of Huawei that has been pretty active in the smartphone market in recent years, seems ready for another interesting release. The upcoming Honor 80 GT device is on its way to the world, and it’s launching earlier than many were expecting.
GSMArena has spotted a new teaser provided by Honor on its Weibo page, indicating the launch date of its new phone. The great news is that we have little time to wait for the forthcoming Honor 80 GT to be officially unveiled.
Honor 80 GT will be unveiled by the Chinese brand on the second day of Christmas, December 26. Therefore, perhaps it’s not too late to write your letter to Santa Claus if you haven’t done so already! Gaming phones have been more and more demanded by users in recent years, which means that you just have to give some attention to Honor 80 GT. The upcoming device is definitely a gadget that can run some pretty demanding games.
The event will also mark another launch of a phone from the 80 series of Honor, which is a lot bulkier than most tech lovers predicted.
There’s not much to find out at this point about the specs of the Honor 80 GT, but what we can learn so far is pretty impressive!
Honor’s upcoming phone features an OLED display of 144Hz for the refresh rate. That’s certainly a higher refresh rate than what some flagships can offer, which can be considered a first indication that the Honor 80 GT will indeed be a great phone for gaming.
The future phone from Honor is also doing pretty well when it comes to the cameras. There’s a main 50MP camera backed up by an IMX800 sensor built by Sony. That’s clearly good news, and surely the other cameras won’t fall short. The camera bump, however, will surely represent another reason for many to complain about the phone’s design. Although the camera bump shouldn’t represent a problem by itself, there are many folks out there who despise the iPhone-like style where the camera bump is too obvious. Besides, let’s not forget that we’re in 2022 when people complain about anything!
While you can’t use a phone’s cameras too much when it comes to gaming, let’s speak about other areas of the Honor 80 GT! There’s enough information indicating that the device will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, which is practically one of the best decisions possible. The phone will also likely feature an incredible amount of 16GB of RAM. Considering only those two areas, it’s more than obvious that we’re talking about a powerful phone for gaming!
You also won’t have too much trouble while trying to keep the battery of the Honor 80 GT “alive.” The phone will feature Fast Charging at 66W, while there are still no details available about the number of mAh for the battery. However, it would be reasonable to assume that the battery of the Honor 80 GT device will have around 4,500mAh.
Even if you’re not a fan of the idea of running high-end gaming on a smartphone, you know the drill: it surely would be worth it to attach a gamepad and, eventually, a monitor to that device to play some good games. Phones packing a lot of hardware power are certainly suitable for gaming as well, and you can easily transform them into consoles nowadays with just a little ‘tech magic.’
The forthcoming Honor Pad V8 Pro tablet will also be launched alongside the Honor 80 GT. Which one would you be willing to buy at this point?
