The Developers Pull the Grand Theft Auto Trilogy on PC

The Definitive Edition of the Grand Theft Auto Trilogy has been released for two days, and it’s already going through some issues. The title contains a remastered version of three iconic games from the Grand Theft Auto series: GTA 3, Vice City, and San Andreas.

Engadget.com tells us about the issues of the bundle of GTA games for PC. Yesterday, November 12, Rockstar’s website was displaying “this title is currently unavailable in your country or region.”

Unable to play

Kotaku reveals that those who purchased the PC version of the title before its disappearance couldn’t play it.

In a later update, Rockstar declared for Engadget:

The Rockstar Games Launcher is now back online. However, Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition will remain unavailable to play or purchase as we work to remove some data files that were unintentionally included in the new versions of these games. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and we hope to have the correct versions of the games up and running for everyone as soon as possible.

Despite the highly-anticipated release, many gamers would argue that nothing beats the original. They’re still fans of the original versions of the GTA trio and for good reasons.

GTA 3 was released twenty years ago, in 2001, and it marked the beginning of the open-world era of the series in a 3D environment. Despite the game being obsolete, it was hugely influential for the gaming world.

GTA Vice City was released two years later, and it rapidly became a worldwide phenomenon. The game brought the thrill of GTA 3, accompanied by lots of fast and exciting cars and an unforgettable ’80s vibe.

GTA San Andreas was released in 2004, and it’s considered even now the best open-world game ever made by some fans. The gameplay was simply amazing – the game offers 100 storyline missions and lots of things to do as side quests.
