Study Shows That Pfizer And Moderna Vaccines Don’t Decrease Sperm Count

A recent study shows that men who got the Moderna or Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine didn’t experience a drop in sperm count or quality.

Researchers from the University of Miami analyzed the sperm quality of 45 healthy volunteers before their initial dose and seventy days after their second. They discovered that there were no “significant decreases in any sperm parameter” after getting both doses of the vaccine.

Dr. Ranjith Ramasamy, the director of male reproductive medicine and surgery from the University of Miami Health System, explained that it is unlikely that the vaccine would impact sperm parameters, as the vaccines include mRNA and not the live virus itself.

The discovery should calm the men who avoided getting inoculated due to the concerns regarding fertility problems, doctors claimed.

Dr. David Cohen, the co-medical director of the Institute for Human Reproduction in Chicago, said:

“We now have evidence that should reassure you that the risk of immunization compromising your sperm count is extremely low.”

Cohen wasn’t implied in the newest JAMA study. However, he co-authored a report in April that discovered that COVID-19 can’t be transmitted sexually.

The study’s author concluded that his discoveries might be restricted by its minuscule sample size of pre0screened young, healthy men, mentioning that the sperm analysis “is an imperfect predictor of fertility potential.”

The study subjects were men between 18 and 50 years of age. The average age was 28, and neither had pre-existing fertility problems.

It is likely that the study will put an end to the fears of men across the globe who avoid getting vaccinated.

Hypotheses suggest that the people who complained about fertility problems after getting fully vaccinated likely experienced similar problems before.
