Skyrim NPCs Who Should Be Companions

In The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim, players can occasionally use the assistance of a companion, whether for a simple fetch quest or a challenging fight against a Dragon Priest.

However, it’s safe to say that some of the game’s best characters weren’t included for some reason.

They are some really recognizable faces in the land and the Dragonborn would get along well with them for various reasons as well!

Even if there are many companions in Skyrim, some of them are pretty lacking.

That being said, the game might have benefitted from incorporating other endearing characters as potential companions alongside the few that are worth the bother.

Sinding 

There are undoubtedly advantages and disadvantages to becoming a werewolf in the game.

But the ideal followers are those who don’t suffer from lycanthropy’s negative effects (or at least don’t have an indirect impact on the player’s experience).

Farkas and Aela the Huntress are just two of the game’s werewolf companions, but Sinding from Falkreath ought to be counted among them.

Players have the option to kill or spare him at the conclusion of the quest line that he is connected to, but the reward for doing so, Hircine’s Ring, is unimpressive.

If Sinding was a possible companion, this choice would be much more significant.

Babette 

Thanks to the Hearthfire DLC, the Dragonborn can adopt kids, but without the aid of mods, there aren’t many interactions that they can share together regardless.

It’s regrettable that Babette from the Dark Brotherhood wasn’t converted into a companion outside of the “Death Incarnate” quest for this reason.

She would’ve been a deadly assassin in addition to giving Skyrim’s kids some depth by allowing for the possibility of child companions.

No robber could have predicted that a young girl would stab him in the back, and even if things got a little complicated, Babette could’ve just played the innocent kid role and fooled everyone.

Thieves Guild Members 

It’s surprising how none of the faction’s thieves are available to aid the Dragonborn given how difficult the faction’s quest line is.

There are plenty of interesting and distinctive characters in the organization, and each one of them has the potential to be helpful to the player in some way so their unavailability as companions is really disappointing.

Karliah would make a fantastic companion for the Dragonborn, being the most captivating character in the Thieves Guild.

She has a sharp mind, a never-ending drive, and is a proficient archer.

Even the most dangerous quests would be made tolerable by Devlin Mallory‘s sense of humor, and his aptitude for spotting and stealing valuable items would come in handy.

Sapphire might be more reserved on the other hand, but her tenacity and do-or-die attitude can be really useful as well.

There is no reason why these characters, who have unique personalities and abilities that any player could use, aren’t available as companions.

In actuality, Skyrim has a large number of followers that players should avoid enlisting; instead, these much more beneficial NPCs should’ve taken their place.

The good news is that you can use mods to make that happen!
