Samsung’s Powerful New Chipset Could Rival the Apple M2!

At this point in time, Samsung is yet to announce if they will drop the Exynos 2300 SoC or not, even though Qualcomm has confirmed that the Galaxy S23 family is set to rely on Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 fully in the future.

What this means is that it’s still very much possible that the unannounced chipset from Samsung might end up powering a number of different smartphones as well, such as the upcoming Google Pixel 8.

With that being said, in the meantime, a Twitter user by the name of OreXda, has posted the layout of a mystery Exynos system-on-chip that features a variety of units including graphics, modem and processor, to name just a few.

And that’s not even all! A different user also went ahead and dissected the apparent composition of the CPU, which may or may not include 4 efficiency and performance cores.

But what’s truly surprising, however, is the fact that there is also a mention of a bonus ninth core that is meant to deal with idle tasks!

It hasn’t been confirmed whether it’s the Exynos 2300, the SoC meant to be released next year, or if it’s another future successor expected to appear in the following couple of years instead.

But regardless of the answer, the source stressed that this is one of the most powerful and advanced chipsets Samsung’s new team has ever made.

Furthermore, as you may recall, the South Korean conglomerate has put together a so-called “dream team” to focus on developing a top quality proprietary silicon that could very well rival Apple’s M2 series.

Rumor has it that the Galaxy S25 will be the first phone made by the Korean company to use this powerful chip.

As for the Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, it is believed that they will take full advantage of Tensor G3, which is supposed to be based on the Exynos 2300.

The general consensus is that Samsung will most likely manufacture it just like the first and second gen Tensor but it’s still not clear whether the aforementioned features will arrive at any point or not.
