Samsung Is Rolling Out The First Update For The Galaxy S23 Series

Samsung is now releasing the first software update for the Galaxy S23 series. Even though Samsung only announced the Galaxy S23 series a week ago, the first software update for all three models is already available. If you just acquired one of these devices, you should be aware of this fact as updates make your phone perform smoother. It is a rather simple update that, for the most part, brings the phone up to speed with the latest security patches that were available between the time it was created and the time it was made available for sale.

This update keeps the device up to current with the security patch for February 1 2023. The Galaxy S23, S23+, and S23 Ultra were all sold with the most recent security patch already loaded when they were bought. The upgrades include 48 security changes that are universal to all Android 13 phones in addition to 7 for Samsung’s One UI.

It has been determined that this update is only available for now on unlocked phones in Europe, and it is expected that it will quickly become available in all of the other launch territories for the S23 series. On the S23, it weighs just a little bit more than 500MB, while on the Ultra model, it weighs a little bit more but is still less than 600MB. The prior year, Samsung made a change to the update schedule for its premium smartphones, committing to provide four operating system updates and five years’ worth of security patches. The S23 series is, of course, a component of this, and as a result, it anticipates the launch of Android 14, 15, 16, and 17 in 2028, which will also mark the end of the regularly scheduled security upgrades.
