Poland Decides to Send Four Fighter Jets to Ukraine

Poland, a NATO member, has announced that it’s willing to send four MiG-29 fighter jets to Ukraine to provide help in Kyiv’s battle against the Russian forces, according to CNN. President Andrzej Duda has revealed the information and that the planes in question are part of those inherited from the German Democratic Republic.

The MiG-29 fighter jets are just weeks or even days away from reaching Ukraine. They only need to be serviced before being handed over to Poland’s neighboring country that’s involved in the war against Russia.

When it comes to the MiG-29 aircraft, which are still operating in the defense of Polish airspace, a decision has been taken at the highest levels, we can say confidently that we are sending MiGs to Ukraine.

The MiG-29 fighter jet is a highly capable aircraft with a powerful set of features. It was designed by the Soviet Union during the Cold War and has been in service since the 1980s. The aircraft is known for its speed, maneuverability, and weapons capabilities, and is capable of performing a wide range of missions, including air-to-air combat, ground attack, and reconnaissance.

On Thursday, the White House made a statement regarding Poland’s decision to send fighter jets to Ukraine. The White House acknowledged that this decision by Poland is an act of exercising their sovereignty and that the United States would not respond by sending F-16 aircraft to Ukraine. This means that the decision made by Poland is completely independent and self-governing and the US government respects their right to make such decisions.
