Pokémon GO: All You Should Know About Little Cup Remix

While the Great League, Ultra League, and Master League are the staples of Pokémon Go’s Go Battle League, there are also periodic interim cups for PVP enthusiasts. Previous Pokémon battlers will recall the Flying Cup, in which only flying-type Pokémon could compete.

This time around, the Little Cup Remix in Pokémon Go is available for one week from the 20th to the 27th of July, coinciding with the arrival of the Ultra League.

Little Cup rules

Similar to the Flying Cup, there are certain supplementary teamwork prerequisites you should be aware of. Little Cup’s standard regulations apply, but there is also a blacklist of prohibited items.

If this is your first time playing Pokémon Go or any of its PVP modes, Small Cup will urge you to assemble a team of three “little” Pokémon. “Little” might signify one of two things depending on the context. To begin, a Pokémon’s base combat power must be less than 500 for it to participate.

The second rule is that all Pokémon must be in their unevolved states. This means that they have the potential to evolve but have not yet done so. A Charmander with 500 CP is OK since it can evolve, but a Shuckle with the same CP would not be because it cannot develop at all. Also, because Charmeleon developed from Charmander, it is not eligible.

Last but not least, it can’t be one of the four prohibited Pokémon, which are the four most-used Pokémon in regular Little Cup. In an effort to liven things up, the Remix section of the cup is used here. Those of you who have had it with Bronzor will be relieved to know that you won’t have to stare into its smug little eyes this time.

Four Pokémon are off-limits in Little Cup Remix:

  1. Bronzor
  2. Cottonee
  3. Deino
  4. Vulpix

There is a major advantage to playing Little Cup, similar to that of the Great League, in that the 500 CP cap makes assembling a squad cheap and simple, especially in terms of Stardust. Since mythical and legendary Pokémon are usually acquired at considerably higher CPs, they are disqualified for Little Cup and Little Cup Remix, so there’s no need to stress about them spoiling your day.

The obvious drawback is that there aren’t very many Pokémon to choose from. Despite the fact that all Pokémon are weaker with a 500 CP restriction, the exceptional ones are noticeably more specialized than they would be if the CP cap were greater or evolved Pokémon were allowed.
