Online Leaks Provide Details About The Upcoming Xiaomi 13T And 13S

Next week, at MWC, Xiaomi will make its worldwide premiere of the Xiaomi 13 line of smartphones. The Xiaomi 13 Lite will be present at the launch event alongside the Xiaomi 13 and the Xiaomi 13 Pro. While this may be the primary emphasis for Xiaomi at the moment, the firm is also working on additional premium devices, and information about the company’s ambitions for other future gadgets has just been discovered online.

According to the information that was leaked by Digital Chat Station, it would seem that Xiaomi would not release a 13S series smartphone in 2018. The Xiaomi 12S series was introduced by the company in August of the previous year as a way to improve upon the standard Xiaomi 12 lineup by equipping it with the vastly superior Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor. At the same time, the Xiaomi 12S Ultra was presented to the market with its much-touted type 1-inch camera sensor. But, it seems that things will be handled differently this year.

First of all, according to all of the information that has been gathered, Xiaomi’s “Ultra” phone for this year will be the Xiaomi 13, not the Xiaomi 13S Ultra. According to recent sources, the introduction of the aforementioned item will take place on a worldwide scale in either April or May. Given that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 already performs a fantastic job, it is also improbable that we will see a Qualcomm 8+ Gen 2 in the near future. As a consequence of this, Xiaomi probably has little to no motivation to update its flagship line with a Xiaomi 13S series.

But, the Xiaomi 13T series will be available in more countries later on in the year. According to rumors, one of the smartphones in the Xiaomi 13T lineup will be a rebranded version of the Redmi K60 Extreme Edition. The Redmi K60 Extreme Edition, also known as the Redmi K60 Ultra, will only be available in China. Nevertheless, a device known as the Xiaomi 13T will be exported to Europe. For example, the Redmi K50 Extreme Edition was rebranded as the Xiaomi 12T Pro and released a year ago. Yet, throughout the process, the device’s camera was upgraded from 108 MP to 200 MP.
